BACKGROUND

Years ago, the United Way of Broward County was the catalyst to the creation of an informal group of the Executive Directors/CEO’s of agencies it funded in whole or in part.  The primary purpose of the group was to provide a forum for linking the agencies with each other and with the United Way.

Around 2007, as the United Way began to migrate towards implementing its ‘community impact’ model and a amidst an increasingly challenging economic climate, a reassessment of the structure and core purpose of the United Way funded agency executives group was initiated.  With an overarching desire to join together where there is value and where we are “better together,” an initial and focused set of goals and objectives were identified.
